A Soft and Sculptural Wedding at Bridgewater Estate Auckland
Yue and Vern’s wedding at Bridgewater Estate Auckland was a beautiful blend of soft tones, sculptural blooms and quiet elegance. Set against a lush subtropical backdrop, their day felt intimate, considered and full of warmth.
Yue came to us with a very clear vision and a complete mood board, with a floral colour palette of white, ivory and blush. Every detail felt calm and intentional, and the flowers were designed to sit beautifully within that atmosphere — romantic, modern and refined, without feeling overly formal.
As an Auckland wedding florist, I always love working with couples who have a strong sense of what they are drawn to, but still leave room for the flowers to move naturally. For Yue and Vern, the floral design was all about softness, shape and thoughtful details.
The Bridal Bouquet
Yue’s bridal bouquet was designed to feel sculptural, romantic and slightly asymmetrical, with a soft sense of movement.
I used a beautiful mix of Colombian roses and garden roses in cream and different shades of blush, paired with modern anthuriums, delicate Phalaenopsis orchids and textural touches of preserved Ming fern. The result was a statement bouquet that felt both modern and timeless — a perfect match for Yue’s structured yet flowing gown.
For Vern’s buttonhole, we used a single orchid to gently echo the bridal bouquet and keep the couple’s personal flowers feeling cohesive and refined.
Ceremony and Reception Styling
From the cards and well wishes table to the reception tablescape, every floral touch was designed with intention. Rather than creating something overly abundant, the styling focused on refined details, soft colour and florals that felt connected to the setting.
Welcome Table Arrangement
For the welcome table, we created a low and abundant floral arrangement in blush and ivory tones. Roses, rice flowers and lisianthus were layered together to greet guests with softness and warmth as they arrived.
Reception Flowers with Bud Vases and Candles
For the reception, we chose clustered bud vases and soft taper candles to maintain a clean, airy feel across the white linen tables. The florals, in muted pinks and creamy whites, brought a sense of understated luxury to each guest’s place setting.
The bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets were also placed on the bridal table after the ceremony, adding extra abundance and making the most of the flowers throughout the day. This is one of my favourite ways to repurpose wedding flowers — it keeps the overall styling cohesive while allowing each arrangement to be enjoyed for longer.
Our Floral Philosophy
Yue and Vern’s day was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do — celebrating love through considered floral design. Each flower was chosen not just for its beauty, but for the way it helped tell their story.
At Willow & Peony, we believe that wedding flowers are more than decoration. They are an expression of feeling, character and connection. This wedding was a true reflection of that belief: soft, modern, personal and quietly elegant.
If you’re planning a wedding at Bridgewater Estate Auckland, or another beautiful Auckland wedding venue, I’d love to help you create flowers that feel personal, thoughtful and beautifully suited to your day.
